Movement Practice

as a somatic practice. An approach of paying attention, from the ground up. Developing sensitivity and working with space, the awareness of space.

COLLABORATION/ ELASTICITY/ RELAXATION/ RESILIENCE


The practice is for those who are interested in relating to their body as energetic expression, as a whole conduit of sensing and moving in the world.

So it is for those interested in longevity and self expression , not just to learn the next new skill.


I spent over a decade deeply involved in, practicing and sharing, a quite well systematized modern postural yoga system. 

Over the last few years my sense of inquiry, research and inspiration has however opened up to a much more varied body-mind-breath-forces landscape and connection. In this way the practice has simplified and at the same time it has greatly expanded.


The practice is a physical practice. It proposes diverse ways of articulating joints, ways of transferring forces, and ways of exploring multiple coordinations and balances.

As a practice, it does intentionally open up to more non linear and more rhythmic forms. All as genuine attempts to cultivate effective tool for self careself regulation and enhanced kinetic potentials.

The practice is still strongly embedded in and it deeply honors subtle human anatomy (Hatha yoga anatomy and meridian anatomy), and as well it taps in the more modern (bio)tensegrity principles.


The forms proposed want to offer simple and modular templates of inquiry (test and taste) of the diverse joint articulations, coordinations, balances and force transferring. In space, with breath.



For most practitioners such forms can hopefully become direct and easy-to-access sets of tools/activities for self care (longevity).  

For some others, the forms and activities can also turn into a unique stepping stone and inspiration towards a much more personal form of inquiry/research of self.(aka contemplation practice).

And of course, both directions are completely valid.


"All in all, the practice is the cultivation of our very own felt sense."


I do speculate that such approach to practice can have the potentials to be incredibly self empowering and utterly infinite, which yes it couldch  be a beautiful definition of wellbeing.

Classes want to be just a first learning environment and a nice thing to come back to. My personal invitation is to really start as soon as possible to develop and to enjoy a self home practice

Curiosity is very very WELCOME.

 So, we'll be here to play rather than perform. And the game is to make the play keep going rather than win (=stop the play)...

More recently I have also found sources of inspiration and research in a less popularized form of yoga like Shadow Yoga, and a lot in the more current somatic and movement culture field (i.e. Kaila June, Rafe Kelly, fightingmonkey, Dave Weck)"

(Note: Mass held a Iyengar Yoga Junior Intermediate 1 Certificate till beginning of 2019. After reconsidering his status for a while, he felt that he couldn't represent anymore the method mostly on pedagogic ground, leaving the method. He so stepped into a more independent and slightly less conventional practitioner and teacher path, which it is a bit scary but it feels much more authentic.
